  • Who can use the Congress Center?
    • Técnico Congress Center is specially designed to support the needs of the school, providing spaces and equipment, to host scientific, technical or institutional events. The events can be organized by Técnico itself or in collaboration with external entities (public or private), and may also satisfy some external requests, within the same nature, provided there is no overlap with internal needs.

 

  • What are the contact details for information about the Congress Center

  • What kind of events can take place in the Congress Center
    • Técnico Congress Center is specially designed to host scientific, technical or institutional events.

 

 

  • What is the normal schedule?
    • Técnico Congress Center is open from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am to 06.00 pm, except for the Auditorium where events must start at 9 am.

 

 

  • How can I book rooms and equipment?

 

  • How far in advance should reservations be made?
    • There is no recommended time frame for reservations, bookings can be made at any time. There are some periods of high demand, so it is advisable to make reservations for spaces and equipment as soon as the need is known.

 

  • Are there other congress-related services available at the Congress Center? How can they be requested?
    • In addition to rooms and audiovisual equipment, other support materials are available in the Técnico’s Congress Center, such as identification stands, panels for signposting, placards for posters, boards and pens, screens, sofas, tables and chairs, etc.

 

  • Are catering services provided in the Congress Centre?
    • The catering can be provided directly by the Center services, according to the menus available at https://centrocongressos.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/precario/ or you can request a specific budget for a particular service, by email  mailccongressos@tecnico.ulisboa.pt.  In this case, the rental of the space for the service is already included in the budget.
    • The catering may be provided by any external supplier, choose by the event organizer, as long as it is previously approved by the Técnico Congress Center services. In this case, payment is due for the use of the hall where the service took place.

 

 

  • Is it possible to benefit from discounts in events organised or co-organised by the IST community?
    • Sponsorship for internal events may be granted according to the business partnerships established by Técnico and may be requested by filling the form: https://goo.gl/8pWydk
    • There is also the possibility of the sponsorship being complemented or granted directly by the Técnico Management Board.

 

  • What are the typical discounts mentioned in the previous point?
    • The sponsorships granted are based on the current prices:
      • 50% in halls
      • 75% in GA and Halls
      • 30% on audiovisual equipment
      • Catering and other omitted equipment are not eligible for sponsorship.

 

  • Is a deposit required when spaces, equipment or other services are booked
    • For internal events, there is no need for any kind of advance payment. For external events, it is required that all catering services are fully paid up until a week before the start of the event.

 

  • What methods of payment are accepted?
    • The payment should be made by an internal requisition, by a crossed-check payable to Técnico or by bank transfer (always referring to the invoice number).

 

  • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • For space booking, it’s possible to cancel a reservation with no cost associated up to 3 working days prior to the event. Other services must be cancelled within 5 working days prior to the start of the service. All the cancellations have to be sent to the email  mailccongressos@tecnico.ulisboa.pt
